WHAT THE ROYAL LEAGUE IS ABOUT

Fred Gemme won Thursday's stroke competition with a one under handicap effort, shooting 86 off the stick.
By precedent over the years the Royal League has allowed players returning from their home countries to play off their last Royal League handicap irrespective of the handicap they hold playing at home.
It is not a leg up for the visitors. Experience over the ten plus years of Royal League competitions has demonstrated that local conditions in Thailand are very difficult for returning players to handle. Typically, players take around twelve rounds to settle into their "Thai" handicap.
Fred holds a better handicap at his home course but is on the money in Thailand. The Royal League is all about a level playing field when you tee it up. Sandbagger do not get a look in at our competitions.
Yours Truly took second place and low gross but continued a recent trend of having a great nine followed by a crap nine. 38 out and 45 coming home. No sense in the disparity. One of those sports psychologist could possibly help but I can only afford Ian Rudd who makes no sense at all after a few drinks at the Ponder.
Jack Cooper came in third. A little off his game lately having gone out to an 11 but his mechanic are too good to be out of the winners circle for any length of time.
